Care

Alpaca is an extremely breathable material. You don't need to wash it often! We recommend washing your plush by hand in cold water and with a mild or specific product for wools.

The alpaca lives in the highlands of the Andes, at an altitude of about 4000 meters. There, violent winds blow and temperatures can sometimes drop below -20°C! Its secret to resist to these temperature variations? Its very soft and breathable wool that insulates from the cold and allows it to breathe in case of strong heat.

Born to be free !

Animal welfare is one of our priorities. The wool of our sweaters and plush toys comes from farms where the alpacas live in a semi-wild state: they are only in contact with humans at the time of shearing (once a year). The rest of the time, they enjoy the great Andean spaces!

Too hot to handle 🔥

Unlike the llama, the alpaca does not shed or lose its hair. Its shearing is therefore essential for its comfort and well-being, especially as summer approaches. There's nothing like a little spring cut to start the season off on the right foot, is there?

(Alpa)gaga of the babies

The term "Baby Alpaca" refers to the wool from the first shearing of the animal's life, a bit like down. This very "pure" wool is 10% finer than standard alpaca wool but also exceptionally soft!

A real fashion week !

Alpacas have naturally diverse and colorful dresses! These nuances allow us to obtain wools with deep and subtle shades.

Social Project

We collaborate with the NGO Los Chicos de Cusco which supports 4 schools located in poor villages in the region of Cusco. For each plush sold, we redistribute one euro, which corresponds to one day of school for a student including the salary of the teachers, the supplies and the uniform.

An exceptional yarn...

The term “Baby Alpaca” designates the wool made up of the finest fibers, which are found in particular on the chest of the animal. We have selected this extremely rare wool for its exceptional properties: warm (obviously) it is also incredibly soft, breathable, very strong and, unlike sheep's wool... hypoallergenic! No risk of allergy or scratching.

Perus was born in 2014 from a trip to South America and a desire to offer sustainable, ethical and committed fashion. We develop our products so that they accompany you everywhere and for a long time. For this, we select our materials with care, as do our partner craftsmen. Each of our employees is paid fairly and works in good conditions.
