Marino Santa Cruz

Regular price 55.00€

Navy blue unisex Peruvian canvas backpack with colorful Inca patterns.
16 liters, 43 cm x 23 cm x 17 cm, laptop pocket 13 inches, inside zipped pocket.

Our bags are crafted using a very dense and wear-resistant 18 oz cotton, genuine leather for the straps and strong magnets for closing the bag. Inside each bag, you will find the laptop pocket and a little zipped pocket to put your small and precious stuff ! The ethnic textiles are woven in Peru and the patterns originate from villages within the sacred region of Cusco, more specifically Chinchero and Chivay. For expert craftmanship, we turned towards an Indian manufacturer in the New Delhi region, where the best know-how for these types of products can be found.
One product (bag or shoes) = One day of school for a child in San Jeronimo, a poor suburb of Cusco.

For washing, we recommend using our sneakers shampoo and we recommend washing it by hand. This shampoo is applicable on any kind of canvas. The backpacks can't be washed in a laundry machine because of the leather.

Traditional patterns from the Sacred Valley of the Incas

Our canvas are woven in Peru, where each village has its own pattern. The patterns we have chosen come from villages around Chinchero, Chivay and Titicaca.

Artisanal craftmanship

Our backpacks are made by artisans in India. We are very careful about their working conditions.

One day of school for each backpack

We are collaborating with the NGO Los Chicos de Cusco who is supporting 4 schools in the poor villages of the Cusco area. For each backpack bought, we redistribute one euro which corresponds to the fees of one day of school for one pupil, including teacher's salary, school supplies and the uniform. It represents between 15 and 20% of our benefits.

Hoe x Perus,
The collab of good mood ☀️

We've teamed up with Binette , an optimistic brand of practical, pretty, and ethical accessories for everyday adventures.
We share a strong value, the one of travel and discovery 🌎
And of course, the same fight: the one of establishing a more responsible fashion 💪

We took the good vibes of Binette, we added the Perus'touch: We mixed everything and worked on the perfect product, which makes you feel good ! 🤸‍♀️
Upcycling: responsible sourcing

We have made our waist bags from dormant stock and destined to be thrown away (scrap fabric or end of collection stock that are no longer useful to brands).

This approach is called "upcycling" and allows us to drastically reduce our impact and avoid overconsumption 🌱

We went to hunt for our leather and fabrics in Cholet and Paris.
An ethical production
The Binettes are produced in Sahline in Tunisia in a workshop with 30 years of expertise, specializing in the manufacture of clothing and accessories.
Our workshop is in line with our ecological approach and is a member of the "Fashion Revolution Tunisia" initiative which works for sustainable fashion.

The products are transported by boat from Tunisia.
Suede Care
To prolong the life of your Binette and limit stains, we recommend that you use a waterproofing agent .
To clean stains, we advise you to use a mixture of soapy water and white vinegar!
For more information, you can read this article .
Social Project
We have been collaborating since our beginnings with the association Los Chicos de Cusco which supports financially several educational establishments in the suburbs of Cusco.
For each product sold, €1 is donated to the association, i.e. more than 20% of our profits. This donation helps finance a school day for a child in Peru!
Our history
Perus was born in 2014 from a trip to South America and a desire to offer sustainable, ethical and committed fashion. We develop our products so that they accompany you everywhere and for a long time. For this, we select our materials with care, as do our partner craftsmen. Each of our employees is paid fairly and works in good conditions.
Binette's story
Binette is an ethical fashion brand created in 2020 by Alice Bèle. It's the optimistic brand of practical, pretty and ethical accessories for everyday adventures. All products are 100% upcycled for a reduced impact on the planet.

Sac Binette
